Martha Sue (Ardell) Gally, 89, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 11, 1934, daughter of the late William T. and M. Alberta (Koons) Ardell. Spending the majority of her childhood in Ardmore, PA, Martha later moved to Conshohocken in 1947 with her family.

On June 20, 1953, she married the love of her life, Henry R. Gally and they spent the next 68 years happily married until she lost her husband in July 2021. They started their family and raised their two boys Stephen and Robin in Lafayette Hill, PA, before a brief stint in Crown Point, Indiana, and returned to Lafayette Hill in Whitemarsh Township. They also lived in Mineral Wells, West Virginia and Walnut Creek, California before retiring to Cresco, PA at Paradise Falls Lutheran Association where Martha’s family owned a summer cottage since the early 1900s where she loved to spend her time by the lake or on her back porch.

She and Henry enjoyed traveling as members of the Holiday Rambler Club. In 2004, they relocated to the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA. Martha was a part of the church in each town she lived in, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and loved sewing, knitting and playing cards.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry R. Gally (July 2021); sister, Barbara A. Snear (2015); son, Stephen R. Gally (2004). Martha is survived by her son, Robin A. Gally (Roxanne) of Paradise Falls, Cresco, PA; Sister-in-law, Roberta Gally, Cumming, GA; Grandchildren, Tara (Robert) Strauss; Dana (Chris) Calandrillo, Sara (Tom) Acciavatti, Tevill Gally, and Shannon (James) Dillman; and ten great grandchildren.

A joint memorial service will be held for Martha and her husband Henry Gally on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 at the Sell Chapel of the Masonic Village, 200 Freemason Dr, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. There will be a brief visitation, Friday, from 10:40 to 11:00 at the church before the service. Clergy: Pastor Brian A. Farling officiating. Interment will be private.
